THE EUROPEAN INNOVATION PARTNERSHIP FOR AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTIVITY AND SUSTAINABILITY (EIP-AGRI)

The EIP-AGRI, launched by the EC in February 2012, provides a working interface between the relevant innovation actors (farmers, forest owners, advisors, businesses, researchers, environmental groups, NGOs and other actors within agriculture and forestry) whereby they can identify, develop and test innovative solutions to allow the sector to bring innovative approaches faster from science to farming practice.

The EIP-AGRI is led by a High Level Steering Board (HLSB), which is assisted by a Sherpa Group composed of experts from public and private sectors.

The work in practice is organised by the setting up of Operational Groups (OGs) that link together all relevant stakeholders. The OGs’ main role is to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, expertise and good practice to generate new insights, ideas and innovative solutions that can be quicker put into practice.

The EIP–AGRI Service Point was established by the EC in April 2013 and acts as a mediator within EIP-AGRI network. It enhances communication and cooperation between relevant stakeholders and is in charge of organising events, workshops, seminars and conferences. An interactive web platform within the EIP-AGRI website supports the networking functions, collects research needs from practice and helps partnering around innovation project ideas.
