NSG Denmark

The forest-based sector in Denmark

The National Support Group of Denmark (NSG Denmark) is a network involving stakeholders from universities, private companies, consulting companies and forest managers and owners. The goal of the NSG is to strengthen the cooperation between research, development and the wood sector within key areas, namely wood science, bioenergy, multifunctional use of the forest, water production, biodiversity, new wood products, timber construction, wood durability and an improved indoor environment.

The National Research Agenda – Denmark for forest-based sector highlights and elaborates areas in which an increased research effort is considered necessary. It aims to inspire stakeholders to take up new projects and cooperation within and across sectors. Recently, the work of the GO2WOOD initiative has highlighted the use of wood in a Danish context, involving a very broad range of participants including architects, teachers, carpenters and engineers, as well as wood scientists.
