1st WOODRISE world congress on mid-rise and high-rise wood buildings at the heart of sustainable cities and the ecological transition, Bordeaux, France, 12–15 September 2017
How to translate an increasing global demand for wooden buildings into market opportunities that support the transition towards more dynamic, low-carbon living environments and sustainable cities? How to best benefit from international scientific and technological excellence in wooden buildings and the potential offered by the wood sector?
These are among the key questions which will be addressed at the 1st edition of the WOODRISE world congress on mid-rise and high-rise wood buildings at the heart of sustainable cities and the ecological transition, to be held in Bordeaux, France, on 12–15 September 2017.
As a parallel event, the seminar “International collaboration in research and development in the realm of wooden buildings” will discuss the latest progress in research and development in building with wood from European and Canadian perspectives. The aim of the seminar is to identify synergies and lay the foundation for collaboration opportunities between the EU and Quebec. FTP Managing Director Johan Elvnert will contribute to the seminar by providing a European view on current research and development in wooden buildings. The seminar will be co-hosted by the Quebec Government together with Canada’s national forest products research institute FPInnovations on Tuesday 12 September 2017.
The WOODRISE congress is co-organised by FCBA (France), FPInnovations (Canada) and the Building Research Institute (Japan) providing a venue for key international stakeholders involved in the economic and technological development of high-rise wooden buildings.
